Livin' the Good Life

Wed Nov 18, 2009, 12:06 PM
So, I picked up THE SHIELD, all seven seasons of it in an attractive case that has the dvds set in file folders and it looks all super-cool.

And last night, I finished the seventh and final season.

It's a pretty damn fine show. I'll get it out of the way: No, it is not as good as THE WIRE. But, it is very, very entertaining (no way I would've watched it for seven seasons if it weren't). The characters are all great, even though they go through periods where you hate them (Claudette, Acevada... I'm lookin' at you!), but never enough to really damage the show.

The most satisfying part of the show is how it builds to the ending. In season five, the Strike team meets Forest Whitaker playing an Internal Affairs officer called Kavanaugh. That season sets of a chain reaction of events that create a wonderful three-season climax that is terribly exciting and painful to watch.

Lots of fun.

(The journal title is a line from the theme song. The theme song was the only thing in the show I hated, actually.)

I like you man, I love how you portray the muscle women as regular woman in a hot and sweet way instead of looking like King Kong like most artist and I like that. Your kind of like what Ray Harryhausen does with his monsters when he humanize them and make them more interesting than the human characters in the movie itself!

Wow! Thanks!

I've been a watcher of yours for some time, but 'til now I've been shamefully quiet. I just wanted to say how much I enjoy your art and the way you draw women. Not just for their magnificent physiques, but for how wonderfully you bring them to life. Their expressions and body language seem so natural and genuine, every piece pulls me in with its personality. I especially love the knack you’ve got for instilling sweetness in your drawings, the likes of which I’ve never felt from any other artist. And your character Ness is simply awesome. :) She seems like such a sweetheart, and any time I’m feeling down, if I look through your works of her, it cheers me up.

So thank you for doing what you do, and for bringing a bit of cheer to a moody fellow like myself. :D

That is extremely kind of you. Thank you so much!

Whenever I feel down I'd go back and read GEN 13: ORDINARY HEROES by :iconadamhughes:.

So the idea that you use my gallery in a similar fashion is touching.

Lamentably, no. The cake lost its half-life. (Not that it matters, it's made of extremely dense saturanium! It weighed 200lbs! I'm trying to slim down here!)
